What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. The calculator runs in your browser. The journey date you pick stays on your device and in the page address, so you can bookmark or share it.
Booking reminders
If you set a reminder we store your email address, the journey dates, your language and a hashed copy of your IP address used only to limit abuse. The first reminder for an address is switched on only after you tap the link in the confirmation email. Emails are sent through Cloudflare Email Service, from reminders@railwayhelper.com, and every one carries a link that removes all reminders for your address at once. We delete each reminder when you unsubscribe, or 30 days after its booking window opened. We never send anything else to that address.
Phone notifications: your browser gives us a push subscription (a long address at your browser maker’s push service plus two keys). We store it, send the reminders through it, and delete it when you stop reminders or the browser revokes it. We never see your name or account.
Cookies and analytics
RailwayHelper sets no cookies and runs no advertising. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not build a profile of you. It records the page, the referring site, your country, device type and page load times, and Cloudflare keeps the totals for us. Our host, Cloudflare, also keeps standard server logs (IP address, page, time) for security, as every website host does.
If you use the day and night switch, your choice is kept in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to us.
Fonts
Our fonts are served from railwayhelper.com itself. No font service sees your visit.
Calendar reminders
"Add to calendar" makes a file in your browser. "Google Calendar" opens Google with the event filled in; nothing is saved until you save it there.
Changes
If this changes, this page will say so first, with a new date at the top.
